About the Department
The department is responsible for deriving and implementing the North Star strategy for new business models within the MDS division, focusing on identifying and expanding opportunities in national and international markets. It leads strategic product and innovation management, continuously developing the MDS portfolio to meet future market demands while fostering strong partner networks and conducting market, competitive, and risk analyses. Additionally, the department collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and other divisions to create cross-divisional solutions, support key military customer programs, and assist internal teams in proposal development.
Your Responsibilities
- Translate the North Star strategy into new business models for the MDS division
- Identify, develop, and expand business opportunities in both national and international markets
- Build and maintain a strong partner network at the national and international levels
- Conduct market and competitive analyses as well as risk assessments to uncover new business prospects
- Lead strategic product management, including innovation management, within the MDS division
- Strategically evolve the MDS portfolio to address future market demands proactively
- Develop cross-divisional solution concepts in close collaboration with Group Sales and Divisional Sales, focusing on Space, Cyber & Electronic Warfare, Software-Defined Defence, and Airborne Electronic Attack
- Present and integrate MDS solutions into key military customer programs, including product demonstrations and direct customer engagement
- Support bid development and guide internal teams throughout the bidding process
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders such as Group Sales / Global Sales, Business Units, and Engineering
- Willingness to undertake international business travel
- Lead a team of multiple employees and manage the associated cost center
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Business Administration or Engineering
- Extensive experience working with military clients at both national and international levels
- Proven track record in sales with significant responsibility
- Strong strategic thinking and assertiveness
- Established network of senior executives and decision-makers within the defense industry
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in German and English, with strong negotiation skills
