About the department

We are looking for a "Head of 4D IV&V Engineering” within the "Naval & Ground Radar Engineering" organization at the Ulm site.

The 4D IV&V Engineering department responsible for the Integration, Verification and Validation of 4D Tactical Radars ensuring the delivery of 4D Tactical Radars meeting evolving customer needs. This dynamic team works in close collaboration with various specialized departments across the company to drive the continuous development and enhancement of the 4D Tactical Radars Product Family. 

Your Tasks

• Management (content and disciplinary) of the department 4D IV&V Engineering with ca. 17 employees in Ulm.
• Ensure, plan and coordinate on time, on quality, on cost the Integration, Verification and Validation of 4D Tactical Radar Systems in compliance with contractual agreements and regulations in cooperation with other departments.
• Ensure preparation engineering quotations in order to support technical bids.
• Collaborate closely with the various specialized engineering departments. Continuously strive for improvements in this collaboration.
• Ensure that the development process in the department is applied and continuously optimized. Control and monitor development projects and conduct engineering reviews to monitor the results. Identify and mitigate development risks.
• Preparation of budget, resource and investment planning as well as continuous capacity utilization planning for the area of responsibility.
• Implement qualitative personnel planning. Lead, motivate and ensure individual development of employees.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and supervisory duties within the area of responsibility.
• Adequate reporting to management and program units.

Your Skills

• Engineering degree (electrical engineering, industrial engineering or similar)
• Several years of systems engineering experience required
• Several years of project management experience desirable
• Several years of System Engineering in 4D Radars Development experience desirable
• Experience in 4D Projects with external customers desirable
• First experiences in personnel management, e.g. as team leader desirable
• Fluent in German and English
