Join Our Team – Test Field Technician Opportunity!

Are you passionate about electronics and quality assurance? GEW Technologies (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Test Field Technician to join our dynamic production team. If you have hands-on technical expertise and a keen eye for detail, this role is for you!

Job Purpose:

The Test Field Technician will focus on testing and fault-finding of electronic products in a production environment. Key responsibilities include acceptance testing at various production stages, component-level troubleshooting, and repair. The technician will also be responsible for fault reporting and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant technical certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in an electronic manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Familiarity with IPC soldering standards and quality control processes.

Key Technical Skills Required:

• Natural aptitude for hands-on technical work.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• Experience with product assembly and ESD safety measures.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of SMT components and electronic test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preparation, fault-finding, alignment, functional, unit, and subsystem testing.
• Perform quality inspections, calibration, and testing according to documentation standards.
• Execute diagnostics, repairs, and rework to restore full functionality and specifications.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures.
• Provide accurate feedback and reporting on test results and faults.
