About the Role

The Systems Technician supports the delivery and lifecycle performance of complex engineering systems by performing system integration, verification, testing, maintenance and technical support activities to ensure compliant, reliable and customer-ready solutions.

Qualification and experience:

• National Diploma in Electronic Engineering; a BTech in Electronic Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a product development or systems engineering environment.
• Practical experience in Radio Frequency (RF) measurement and testing is essential.
• Experience working with analogue and digital electronic systems, test equipment and engineering documentation.
• Experience in system integration, verification, testing and maintenance.
• Experience within a defence technology environment will be advantageous.
• IPC certification will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Engineering Planning and System Implementation

Plan and execute assigned engineering work packages across system development and implementation activities to coordinate scope, resources, deliverables and technical requirements, resulting in efficient and compliant delivery against approved project and contractual requirements.

System Integration, Verification and Validation

Integrate, install and configure hardware and software systems using approved engineering procedures and configuration-controlled documentation to verify performance against defined technical requirements, resulting in operationally ready and compliant systems.

System Testing and Customer Acceptance

Execute functional, regression and acceptance testing across products and integrated systems to identify and resolve technical issues and demonstrate conformity, resulting in reliable solutions that meet engineering and customer acceptance requirements.

Maintenance and Technical Support

Perform fault diagnosis, repairs, preventive maintenance and technical investigations across engineering systems to restore functionality and address recurring technical issues, resulting in improved equipment reliability, availability and lifecycle performance.

Engineering Quality and Configuration Control

Apply engineering, quality and configuration management requirements throughout integration, testing, maintenance and documentation activities to maintain technical integrity and traceability, resulting in controlled system baselines, improved product quality and consistent project delivery.
