About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Maintenance Technician - Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to join our technical operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing advanced maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities to ensure high-quality workmanship, technical accuracy, and operational reliability across electronic and RF systems.

This role requires extensive hands-on experience in fault finding, component-level repairs, RF systems, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and IT infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a technically demanding environment and play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & experience

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or applicable NQF 6 qualification.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience, preferably 8 years’ experience in fault finding and component-level repairs.
• Additional IT-related qualification will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) equipment.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows Workstation, Windows Server, and Linux (terminal mode).
• Experience in installation of application software and databases.
• Experience in testing and configuration of network equipment such as routers and switches.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of power supplies, UPS systems, load testing, and battery balancing.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of Digital Processing Units (DPU).

Key technical skills

• Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques to accurately identify faults in electronic equipment.
• Proficiency in using advanced Radio Frequency (RF) test instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and block diagrams of electronic circuits.
• Understanding of hardware (HW), software (SW), firmware (FW), and system application interfaces.
• Strong understanding and experience with RF equipment including receivers and transmitters.
• Ability to maintain and repair computer hardware, workstations, and servers, including RAID systems.
• Experience in third-party repair coordination.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Key responsibilities

Maintenance, Repair & Technical Support

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of electronic equipment in line with quality standards.
• Achieve first-time-right repairs while minimizing rework and customer complaints.
• Ensure repairs are completed within defined turnaround times (TAT).
• Provide technical guidance and support on complex repairs and maintenance activities.
• Optimize the use of spare parts to improve cost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and ensure ERP systems are updated correctly.
• Deliver customer training and technical support where required.

Occupational Health & Safety

• Maintain a zero-incident work environment by adhering to all safety standards.
• Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
• Promote a safety-first culture through regular inspections, awareness initiatives, and adherence to safe work practices.
