About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering projects from initiation through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risks, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer and contractual requirements. 

Working closely with customers, engineering, operations, suppliers, and project teams, the Project Manager will drive project execution, governance, reporting, and continuous improvement while ensuring technical integrity and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. 

 

Qualifications and experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline. 

  • Formal Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) would be advantageous. 

  • Proven experience managing engineering or technology projects within a manufacturing, defence, aerospace, or high-technology environment. 

  • Experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, quality, procurement, and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating cross-functional resources. 

  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and project lifecycle management. 

 

Key technical skills: 

  • Project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting. 

  • Resource planning and allocation. 

  • Scope, change, and requirements management. 

  • Risk and issue management. 

  • Cost control and financial management. 

  • Procurement and supplier coordination. 

  • Stakeholder and customer management. 

  • Project governance and reporting. 

  • Project execution, monitoring, and control. 

  • Contract and commercial management. 

  • Engineering lifecycle and systems engineering principles. 

  • Project management tools (SAP, Qmuzik, MS Project or equivalent). 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

Project Planning and Execution 

  • Manage allocated projects within contractual, technical, quality, commercial, and schedule requirements to achieve agreed project objectives and customer commitments, resulting in successful project delivery and contractual compliance. 

Scope, Risk and Change Management 

  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource allocations, execution strategies, and performance baselines to optimise project execution and control, resulting in predictable delivery performance and effective utilisation of resources. 

Technical and Operational Coordination 

  • Monitor project finances, risks, opportunities, claims, and scope changes to protect project profitability and contractual obligations, resulting in controlled project performance and achievement of approved financial targets. 

Project Governance and Performance Monitoring 

  • Coordinate engagement between customers, project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and business stakeholders to align expectations, resolve issues, and facilitate decision-making, resulting in strong stakeholder relationships and successful project outcomes. 

Stakeholder and Customer Management 

  • Coordinate engagement between customers, project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and business stakeholders to align expectations, resolve issues, and facilitate decision-making, resulting in strong stakeholder relationships and successful project outcomes. .
