About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our GEW Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, controlling, and monitoring production activities, material availability, and work order execution within an ERP environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring demand fulfilment, production continuity, and the effective utilization of resources through accurate planning, scheduling, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, experience in manufacturing production planning, and the ability to proactively manage material and production constraints in a dynamic operational environment. 

 

Qualifications and experience. 

  • Minimum tertiary qualification in Production and Inventory Control, SAPICS Certification or similar.    

  • Minimum 5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing/production environment.  

  • Applied knowledge of production controlling and material planning, forecasting, Material Resource Planning (MRP) and supply chain.   

  • Proficient with MSOffice suite, advanced skills with MS Excel. 

 

Key technical skills. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related business applications.  

  • Experience with Qmuzik or ERP systems would be advantageous.  

  • Production planning and scheduling capability.  

  • Proficiency in ERP-based work order management and control.  

  • Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) principles and methodologies.  

  • Experience in inventory and material planning processes.  

  • Competence in production data analysis and forecasting.  

  • Proficiency in operational reporting and performance monitoring. 

 

Key responsibilities. 

Production Planning and Material Control: 

  • Analyse production demand, material requirements, and planning parameters within the ERP environment to ensure material availability and the achievement of production schedules.    

Work Order Planning and Execution Control: 

  • Monitor production performance, material availability and operational variances through ERP and business reporting processes to enable informed decision-making and timely corrective action.   

Stakeholder Coordination and Demand Fulfilment: 

  • Facilitate planning alignment with project, operations and production stakeholders in accordance with business priorities to ensure demand fulfilment and effective resolution of supply and production constraints.
