About the Role

The Principal Systems Technician supports the delivery of complex engineering projects by performing system integration, verification, testing, maintenance and advanced technical-support activities throughout the system lifecycle. The role provides senior technical expertise to ensure electronic systems are compliant, reliable, operationally ready and successfully delivered to customers.

 

Qualification and experience:

  • National Diploma in Electronic Engineering; a BTech in Electronic Engineering is preferred.
  • IPC certification will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 9 years’ experience in a product-development or systems-engineering environment.
  • Essential experience in Radio Frequency (RF) measurements.
  • Experience working with analogue and digital electronic systems, test equipment and engineering documentation.
  • Experience in system integration, verification, testing, maintenance or defence-technology environments will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Engineering Planning and System Implementation

Plan and execute technical work packages across complex engineering projects by defining activities, resources and deliverables and supporting system implementation to align work with approved processes and contractual requirements, resulting in efficient and controlled engineering execution.

 

 System Integration, Verification and Validation

Integrate hardware and software systems through installation, configuration, verification and validation activities to confirm compliance with specified technical and operational requirements, resulting in controlled systems that are ready for operational deployment.

  

Testing, Acceptance and Customer Support

Execute functional, regression and acceptance testing across products and systems while resolving technical issues and supporting customer deployment and training to demonstrate compliance and operational performance, resulting in reliable and customer-approved solutions.

  

Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support

Maintain electronic and engineering systems through fault diagnosis, repairs, preventative maintenance, technical investigations and supplier engagement to address defects and sustain system performance, resulting in improved equipment reliability, availability and lifecycle support.

 

Engineering Quality and Technical Improvement

Apply engineering, quality and configuration-management standards across technical activities while maintaining controlled documentation and sharing specialist knowledge to improve engineering practices and product performance, resulting in compliant outputs, stronger technical capability and more effective project delivery.
