About the Role
HENSOLDT South Africa is looking for a motivated and technically driven Junior Sales Support Technician to join our Sales team. This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career engineering professional who is passionate about technology, customer engagement and business development. You will support the Sales and Business Development teams by assisting with technical proposals, customer interactions, product demonstrations and solution development while building valuable commercial and technical expertise within the defence and technology industry.
Qualifications and experience:

National Diploma or BTech in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline.

0–3 years' experience in a technical, engineering, sales support or customer-facing environment.

Exposure to the defence, electronics, communications, radar, Electronic Warfare (EW) or related technology sectors will be advantageous.

Experience in technical documentation, proposal development, customer support or product demonstrations will be advantageous.

Sound understanding of engineering principles and technical systems.
Key technical skills:

Understanding of engineering systems, products and technical concepts.

Knowledge of defence, communications, radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), SIGINT or related technologies.

Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.

Technical solution development and support.
-
Proposal, quotation and tender preparation.
-
Technical compliance matrix development.
-
Bid and proposal coordination.
-
Customer requirement analysis.
-
Product presentation and demonstration support.
-
Market and competitor research.
-
Customer relationship management.
-
CRM systems and sales support tools.
-
Technical document management systems.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Key responsibilities:

Support the preparation of technical proposals, quotations, tender responses and compliance documentation by analysing customer requirements and coordinating technical information to deliver accurate, competitive and compliant submissions.

Assist with customer engagements through technical presentations, product briefings, customer interactions and requirement gathering to strengthen customer relationships and support business development initiatives.

Support product demonstrations, evaluations, trials and technical solution development to showcase product capabilities and assist customers in understanding technical and operational benefits.

Develop and maintain product, system, competitor and market knowledge through continuous research and stakeholder engagement to identify business opportunities and enhance sales effectiveness.

Maintain technical sales documentation, proposal records, customer information and supporting sales data to ensure accurate information management and efficient execution of sales support activities.
