About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Certification Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure electromagnetic compatibility and compliance of GEW products for European and Middle Eastern exports. This role supports our EMC laboratory and Reliability Engineer by delivering accurate, standards-compliant test reports and certification documentation. In addition, the Certification Engineer will provide technical support to production and development teams in resolving EMC-related reliability issues and will contribute to auditing and reporting EMC compliance across our systems.

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum BEng or BSc in Electronic or Electrical Engineering; preferably BEng/BSc (Hons) in Electromagnetic Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’, preferably 10 years’ experience in EMC testing and certification of products for the European market.

 

Key Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EMC testing, fault analysis, and root cause resolution.
  • Industry experience with reliability parameters in electronic products and systems.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, HALT/HASS, and electrical safety testing.
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards (ISO, MIL-STD, IP, RoHS, REACH, EU safety/product legal requirements).
  • Expertise in qualification plan drafting, localisation planning, training, and reliability consultation.

 

Key Responsibilities

EMC testing on product level:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute EMC testing in line with commercial and military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, IEC 61000). 
  • Develop and implement robust testing processes and collaborate with design engineers to resolve EMC issues.

Consultation:

  • Provide expert advice on compliance standards, support Sales and Business Development with accurate compliance information, and deliver training to engineering teams on designing for qualification.

Certification & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Draft and manage qualification/testing plans, generate compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, EMC, Safety), and support supplier/material selection.
  • Lead structured failure analysis investigations and manage test schedules to ensure timely execution of EMC and qualification activities.
