About the role
The Operator – Sandblasting is responsible for performing hands-on manufacturing tasks that contribute to the delivery of high-quality optical components for internal requirements and external customers. The role focuses on process preparation, cleaning, inspection, and general production activities, with a strong emphasis on quality, yield, and 5S standards in a precision manufacturing environment.
Qualification and experience

Mathematics:

Math Literacy 70%+ or

Physical Science 55%+

3–5 years’ experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment requiring fine motor skills and attention to detail.
Key technical skills
-
Basic mathematical competence for manufacturing calculations.

Ability to read and interpret technical/manufacturing drawings.

Good hand-eye coordination.
-
Basic understanding of optical theory (advantageous).

Basic computer literacy.
-
Understanding of process preparation and cleaning in a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities:
Process Preparation and Cleaning
-
Prepare tools, jigs, and fixtures to perform the manufacturing process in accordance with work instructions.

Clean optical components after processing using the specified cleaning methods.

Ensure proper upkeep and basic maintenance of tools, jigs, and fixtures.
Inspection

Perform required inspection steps using the correct inspection equipment in accordance with routing and drawing specifications to ensure product quality before passing to the next production step.

Conduct routine checks to ensure inspection equipment is in good working order and available for use.
General
-
Meet daily production targets as set by the Supervisor.

Maintain high 5S standards at the workstation.

Ensure quality and yield standards are achieved in accordance with drawing specifications.

Perform basic machine cleaning and maintenance.
