About the Role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer supports the development, industrialisation and lifecycle management of mechanical products and systems by applying advanced engineering principles, design methodologies and product lifecycle practices. The role delivers innovative, reliable and manufacturable solutions that meet technical, customer, quality and business requirements.
Qualification and experience:
- Minimum BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6–8 years’ experience in mechanical product design, development and industrialisation within a product-development or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using CAD modelling, engineering simulation and design-analysis tools.
- Experience in engineering verification, testing, manufacturing support and product lifecycle management.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering project teams.

Key responsibilities:
Mechanical Design and Product Development
Design, develop and optimise mechanical products and assemblies by applying engineering principles, CAD modelling, simulation and lifecycle requirements to meet defined technical and customer needs, resulting in innovative, reliable and manufacturable engineering solutions.
Engineering Planning and Project Execution
Plan and execute mechanical-engineering work packages by defining scope, deliverables, schedules, costs and technical requirements within approved engineering and project-governance processes to control delivery performance, resulting in achievement of project objectives within agreed quality, cost and time constraints.
Product Industrialisation and Manufacturing Support
Develop and implement manufacturing solutions through tooling, fixtures, assembly processes, test equipment and production documentation while supporting suppliers, production teams and product transfers to establish repeatable manufacturing capability, resulting in efficient and high-quality production.
Engineering Verification and Lifecycle Support
Verify and maintain mechanical designs through engineering analysis, prototype evaluation, testing, fault investigation, configuration control and technical support to confirm compliance and protect design integrity, resulting in reliable product performance throughout the product lifecycle.
Engineering Innovation and Technical Improvement
Advance mechanical-engineering capability by evaluating new technologies, materials and manufacturing methods and improving design standards, tools and technical knowledge to strengthen product and engineering performance, resulting in improved quality, efficiency and organisational competitiveness.
