About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Representative to ensure product build quality meets stringent workmanship, process, and quality standards within a high-complexity defence manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for verifying product build history, ensuring full traceability, and formally approving production outputs through acceptance testing and certification processes.
Qualifications & experience
- Relevant technical tertiary qualification (e.g. mechanical, electronics engineering)
- 3–5 years’ experience in quality assurance within complex defence system development and production environments
- Exposure to the application of quality standards across the full product lifecycle
- Experience and certification in EN9100 (or equivalent), ISO 9001 (or equivalent) and advanced statistical process control (SPC) or equivalent will be advantageous
Key technical skills
- Experience across design, manufacturing, and after-sales support environments
- Exposure to optical, mechanical, electronic and/or electro-optical product design and assembly (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of quality control techniques and best practices
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, test procedures, and production data packs
- Knowledge of product lifecycle quality assurance and compliance requirements
Key responsibilities
Quality planning and execution
- Develop and implement quality plans across the product lifecycle during contract review, development, and industrialisation phases to ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and organisational quality standards.
Product quality assurance and certification
- Verify product build history, test results, and documentation in production environments to ensure traceability and compliance, resulting in production approval through signed Acceptance Test Logs and issued Certificates of Conformance.
Documentation and compliance management
- Review, validate, and maintain quality documentation and records in line with defined standards and audit requirements to ensure accuracy, traceability, and readiness for internal and external audits.
Stakeholder engagement and issue resolution
- Engage with internal teams and customers to address quality issues and complaints throughout development and production, ensuring timely resolution and sustained customer satisfaction.
Continuous improvement and capability development
- Drive quality improvements and upskill cross-functional teams within the business context to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and adherence to best-practice quality standards.
