About the Role

Lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and technology programmes across the full project lifecycle by managing multidisciplinary teams, customer relationships, commercial performance, technical integration and programme governance. The role is accountable for delivering contractual, financial, schedule and quality objectives while ensuring programme risks are effectively managed and business growth opportunities are supported.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
• Formal Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) will be advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in programme and project management within a complex engineering, defence, aerospace, or high-technology environment.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing customer-facing programmes.
• Experience managing programme budgets, schedules, risks, contracts, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and product development processes.

Key responsibilities:

Programme Planning and Delivery

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex programmes throughout the project lifecycle to achieve contractual, technical, schedule, cost, and business objectives, resulting in successful programme execution and customer satisfaction.

Programme Governance, Risk and Performance Management

Manage programme governance, scope, financial performance, risks, change control, and execution activities to maintain programme integrity, support informed decision-making, and ensure predictable delivery outcomes.

Technical and Commercial Integration

Coordinate technical, engineering, contractual, and commercial activities across multidisciplinary teams to align programme execution with customer requirements and organisational objectives, resulting in integrated and executable solutions.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication, expectation management, and programme alignment, resulting in successful stakeholder engagement and long-term customer confidence.

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

Lead programme teams, develop organisational capability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen programme management practices, improve delivery performance, and support business growth.
