About the Role
The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating the execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure the timely and cost-effective availability of materials and the efficient flow of production activities. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to optimise production schedules, improve planning processes, and ensure customer delivery requirements are consistently achieved.
Qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, Production Control, or a related field.
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or supply chain planning within a production environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Understanding of production planning methodologies, material planning, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of demand planning, inventory control, and production reporting will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:
Production Planning and Scheduling
Plan and coordinate the execution of the Master Production Schedule by translating demand requirements into achievable production schedules to ensure on-time manufacturing, efficient resource utilisation, and customer delivery commitments.
Material and Production Control
Manage production and material planning activities by coordinating material availability, monitoring non-conforming materials, and maintaining production continuity to minimise disruptions and support efficient manufacturing operations.
Production Performance Monitoring
Monitor production performance through reporting, schedule tracking, and KPI analysis to identify deviations, support informed decision-making, and drive the achievement of production targets.
Cross-functional Coordination
Coordinate planning activities across production, procurement, engineering, and other stakeholders to align production priorities, resolve planning constraints, and ensure effective execution of the production plan.
Process Optimisation and Systems Improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying planning process enhancements, optimising SAP utilisation, and improving production planning practices to increase operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall business performance.
