About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP support specialist to drive the effective execution of production-related processes through SAP and robust procedural governance. This role plays a critical part in enabling operational excellence by delivering SAP training, supporting end users, monitoring adherence to key process controls, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities. The successful candidate will act as a key link between operations and systems, ensuring optimal utilisation of SAP across production, logistics, procurement, and inventory management. The role also involves managing system enhancement requirements and delivering specialised SAP support to maintain accurate, efficient, and compliant operations.
Qualifications & experience
- Minimum tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Production and Inventory Control, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in an operational/production environment with SAP super-user responsibilities, including: End-user training, development and maintenance of procedural documentation, operational SAP support and process enablement
Key technical skills
- Ability to integrate end-to-end processes and identify dependencies and impacts
- Strong capability to transfer knowledge through training and clear documentation
- Proven track record in driving process and system improvements, particularly in SAP
- Advanced working knowledge of SAP within a production/operations environment
- Solid understanding of: Production processes, logistics, procurement and inventory management
Key responsibilities
1. Training and procedural governance
- Ensure availability, accuracy, and completeness of SAP-related training and procedural documentation
- Deliver structured onboarding and refresher training to users
- Maintain and update documentation in line with system and process changes
- Develop training materials to support new functionality and user adoption
2. SAP operational and procedural support
- Provide first-line expert support to SAP users
- Recommend compliant, practical solutions within system capabilities
- Monitor process adherence and drive corrective actions where needed
3. SAP specialist transactional support
- Execute specialised SAP transactions
- Ensure high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and compliance
4. Optimisation of SAP utilisation & system improvements
- Identify and implement improvements in SAP usage across operations
- Manage and motivate system change requests
- Participate in testing of new or enhanced SAP functionality
- Support rollout of system updates through training and user engagement
- Contribute to SAP upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
5. SAP master data & user administration
- Maintain personnel-related SAP master data
- Manage user access and authorisation requests in line with governance controls
- Provide user support including password resets and access issues
