About the role
The Process Planner is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimising manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production flow, accurate costing, and high-quality output. The role owns the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs), process routings, work instructions, and time standards within SAP, and works closely with production, engineering, and planning teams to improve delivery performance, cost control, and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications and experience

Minimum SAPICS certificate; Preferably a Diploma in Production Planning, Production Management, or similar.

2–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing production environment.

Proven experience in SAP costing, routing, and BOM creation.
Key technical skills
-
Proficiency in SAP ERP (BOMs, routings, costing, MRP, reporting).

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.

Solid understanding of manufacturing cost analysis, cost estimation, and budgeting.

Working knowledge of Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and MRP.

Experience with SAP reporting and data analysis.
-
Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
Key responsibilities

BOM and Routing management
-
Develop, maintain, and optimise BOMs and routings based on time studies, calculations, and input from subject matter experts.

Ensure data accuracy aligned to Material review board (MRB)/ Technical Review Board (TRB) decisions, deviations, and process changes.

Costing and Quotation Support
-
Perform costing analysis and prepare quotations for internal and external customers.
-
Support bid processes and ensure quotations reflect capacity, resources, and accurate cost assumptions.

Delivery Schedule and Order Analysis

Create and manage external delivery schedules in line with operational capacity.

Track order intake, delivery values, and customer order history to support planning and forecasting.

Reporting and Data Analysis

Generate and maintain SAP and operational reports, including KPI and workforce-related reports.

Provide accurate data and analysis to support decision-making and performance tracking.

Process Optimisation and Cross-Functional Support

Work with production, planning, and engineering to improve process accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.

Incorporate feedback from supervisors, time studies, and reviews to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
