About the role
As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in the efficient and accurate movement of stock in and out of the store. Your primary responsibility will be to execute all required inventory and material handling actions, ensuring alignment with our company’s standards and production requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Grade 12 with informal training.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in material handling and supplying to a production line.
- Previous experience working in a store or warehouse environment.
Key technical skills
- Proven ability to pick orders accurately from inventory.
- Skilled in verifying items against work orders for order accuracy.
- Competent in item counting with speed and precision.
- Experience with packing, labeling, and storing stock according to store protocols.
- Capable of prioritizing orders effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
Key responsibilities
Storage of Inventory
- Execute binning of components from Goods Receiving, including SAP transactions.
- Package and store items in line with company standards.
- Identify and correctly dispose of expired items.
- Archive and safeguard documentation as per company policy.
- Manage bin allocations and changes.
Material Movement & Flow Through the Value Chain
- Pick and issue materials for internal (production line) and external (suppliers and subcontractors) delivery.
- Deliver picked kits and collect completed work orders.
- Perform regular physical stock counts, record variances, and address errors using official procedures.
