About the Role
The Junior Store Clerk supports daily stores operations through accurate stock counting, inventory verification, material identification and bin management to maintain inventory accuracy, traceability and the efficient movement of stock in accordance with warehouse, quality and safety requirements.
Qualification and experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- 1–2 years' experience in a warehouse, stores or inventory control environment.
- Experience performing cycle counts, stocktakes and inventory verification.
- Ability to accurately count stock and perform cycle counts and stocktakes.
Key technical skills:
- Stock Counting and Cycle Count Execution
- Physical Inventory Verification and Reconciliation
- Bin Location Management
- Stock Identification and Traceability
- FIFO/FEFO Inventory Principles
- Material Identification using Part, Serial and Batch Numbers
- Inventory Variance Identification
- Inventory Data Capture and Record Keeping
Key responsibilities:
Stock Counting and Inventory Verification
Conduct daily cycle counts and scheduled stocktakes against inventory records to verify physical stock quantities and identify discrepancies, resulting in accurate inventory records and improved stock integrity.
Material Identification and Bin Management
Maintain accurate identification, labelling and binning of materials throughout stores operations to ensure stock is correctly located and traceable, resulting in controlled storage and efficient material retrieval.
Inventory Control and Variance Management
Record stock movements and count results while identifying, documenting and escalating inventory variances or non-conforming stock to maintain effective inventory control, resulting in improved stock accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Stores and Stock Handling Support
Support receiving, binning, scanning, linking and stock verification activities in accordance with approved stores procedures to facilitate accurate and controlled movement of materials, resulting in reliable day-to-day stores operations.
