About the role
Ensure all incoming materials, components, and assemblies meet specified quality, engineering, and contractual requirements prior to acceptance into the incoming stores, thereby safeguarding product integrity, compliance, and manufacturing reliability
Qualification and Experience
- N6 or national diploma in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering (Light current) or a related technical field.
- A recognised quality inspection or metrology qualification/certification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an incoming inspection, quality inspection, or manufacturing quality control environment.
Key Technical Skills
- Interpret engineering drawings, and specifications
- Apply precision inspection and measurement techniques
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements
- Identify, document, and manage non-conformances
- Verify documentation, certification, and traceability
- Work within quality management systems and controlled processes
Key responsibilities
Incoming Material and Component Inspection
Conduct detailed inspection and verification of incoming materials, components, parts, assemblies, and supplier deliveries against approved drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, inspection criteria, and applicable quality standards to determine acceptance or rejection.
Quality Compliance and Documentation Control
Ensure that all incoming goods are supported by the required quality and traceability documentation, including certificates of conformity, material certificates, test reports, OEM documentation, and revision-controlled records, in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Non-Conformance Identification and Containment
Identify, document, and escalate non-conforming parts or materials, initiate or support non-conformance reporting processes, and ensure effective segregation, containment, and disposition of rejected or suspect items to prevent quality escapes into production.
Measurement, Verification and Inspection Accuracy
Utilise appropriate inspection methods, measuring instruments, and quality tools to perform accurate dimensional, visual, and technical verification of incoming items while maintaining inspection integrity, calibration awareness, and adherence to defined inspection procedures.
