About the role
To manage the procurement of goods and services in line with organisational requirements, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The role supports operational continuity by maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and contributing to efficient supply chain performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or related field
- 2–5 years’ experience in a procurement or buying role
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Syspro or similar)
- Exposure to supplier management and contract administration
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment is advantageous
Key Technical Skills
- Procurement and sourcing processes (RFQs, purchase orders, supplier selection)
- Supplier relationship and performance management
- Cost analysis and negotiation skills
- ERP systems and procurement data management
- Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles
- Contract administration and compliance
- Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Key responsibilities
Procurement and Sourcing
- Execute procurement activities, including sourcing, RFQs, and purchase order placement, to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services
Supplier Management and Performance Monitoring
- Manage supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and continuous improvement in service delivery
Cost Control and Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimise procurement spend
Compliance and Contract Administration
- Apply procurement policies and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with organisational standards and governance requirements
Procurement Reporting and Data Management
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports to support decision-making and ensure data integrity
