About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Artisan – Prototyping Workshop to manufacture high-quality prototype and production components using conventional and CNC machining techniques. The successful candidate will support engineering development, product validation, and production activities by producing precision-engineered components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency within the workshop.

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified Fitter and Turner Trade Certificate.
  • 2–3 years' experience in precision machining and metal manufacturing.
  • Experience operating conventional machining equipment; CNC machining experience will be advantageous.
  • Experience manufacturing prototype and precision-engineered components.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.

Key responsibilities:

Prototype and Precision Component Manufacturing

Manufacture prototype, production, and precision-engineered components using conventional and CNC machining processes to meet engineering specifications, ensuring high-quality components are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.

Manufacturing Planning and Process Execution

Plan machining methods, tooling, machine setup, and production processes to optimise manufacturing efficiency, precision, and repeatability, resulting in reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality production outcomes.

CNC Machining and Technical Capability

Operate and develop CNC machining processes, tooling, programming, and precision measurement techniques to enhance manufacturing capability and technical expertise, resulting in improved workshop performance and production capability.

Quality, Safety and Workshop Operations

Maintain quality standards, workshop equipment, safe working practices, and housekeeping activities to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment that consistently delivers high-quality workmanship.

Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with colleagues to strengthen workshop capability, improve manufacturing processes, and enhance overall operational performance.
