About the role
The Quality Assurance Representative is responsible for ensuring that appropriate Quality Management Systems are implemented and maintained throughout the entire product lifecycle – from design, development, and manufacturing to customer services and final disposal. The role will actively contribute to engineering processes, design reviews, Technical Design Review Board (TDRB), and final qualification reviews. In addition, the incumbent will oversee quality control on the production line, provide technical guidance, and ensure that all products meet regulatory, contractual, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications, experience and training required
- Minimum N6 in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering; preferably an Advanced Diploma in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
- EN9100 or equivalent training; ISO 9001 or equivalent training; Advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in the application of quality standards within complex system development, production, and after-sales support, preferably in the defence sector.
Key Technical Skills
- Experience in design, manufacturing, and product support environments.
- Knowledge of electro-optical, mechanical, and/or electronic systems, product design, and assembly.
- Strong understanding of world-class quality control techniques and their practical application.
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Quality Management Plans across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute Quality Plans for new projects
- Provide quality input during contract reviews.
- Compile and maintain Quality Plans in line with statutory and customer requirements.
- Oversee development and industrialisation phases to ensure quality compliance.
- Serve as customer liaison, addressing quality concerns and certifying final products.
2. Documentation and Vetting
- Prepare and approve Certificates of Conformity (CoC).
- Develop and vet test procedures (ATP/ATL).
- Compile reports, statistics, and audit findings in ERP systems.
- Monitor and report on recurring product issues.
3. General
- Ensure compliance with the latest Business Management System (BMS) procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
4. Training and Development
- Mentor and cross-skill colleagues to improve collaboration, business readiness, and overall quality culture.
