About the role:
As part of HENSOLDT South Africa’s centralised Marketing and Communications team, this role provides focused support to the Radar business unit in Cape Town.
The position executes the Group and South African marketing and communications strategy at BU level, translating product capability and business priorities into targeted, high-impact communication for customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
This is a senior delivery role. You will own execution, influence without authority, and operate in a matrix across Sales, Engineering, and central Communications.
Qualification and experience required:
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Publishing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in marketing and communications.
• Proven delivery in a technical, industrial, or complex business environment.
Advantageous experience:
• Experience in defence, aerospace, engineering, or technology sectors.
• Experience working in a multi-national matrix organisation with centralised communications governance.
Key responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications Execution
• Implement the approved SA and Group marketing and communications strategy at Business Unit (BU) level.
• Develop and deliver BU-specific marketing and communication plans aligned to sales objectives.
• Ensure consistent application of HENSOLDT brand standards in all BU communication.
Product & Technical Marketing
• Lead development of BU marketing collateral:
• Product brochures and presentations
• Videos, imagery, and demonstrations material
• Trade show and customer engagement content
• Translate technical capability into clear, credible customer-facing messaging in collaboration with engineers and product owners.
Campaigns, Media & Digital
• Coordinate BU contributions to:
Website content
Social media
Press releases and announcements
• Support advertising execution in line with Group and SA frameworks.
• Ensure timely delivery of content to central Communications teams.
Events, Exhibitions & Demonstrations
• Plan and execute BU participation in:
Trade shows and exhibitions
Product launches
Customer demonstrations
• Support VIP visits and key stakeholder engagements relevant to the BU.
Internal Communication
• Deliver BU-level internal communication aligned to corporate messaging.
• Support leadership and HR communication initiatives within the Business Unit.
Governance & Operations
• Manage BU marketing activities within approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with brand, communication, and approval frameworks.
• Maintain structured control of marketing assets and demo equipment.
